Educate deaf children for life in Uganda

To give deaf children access to primary education

Our project will work with 5580 deaf children and young people to help them access quality primary education. Deafness is a hidden disability and deaf children are the most marginalised in the world, invisible and hidden away by their families because of social stigma and a belief that their disability is linked to witchcraft. Without education children remain vulnerable, isolated from their communities and unable to make friends, and subject to a lifetime of dependence on others. Signal works with deaf children, their families, teachers and wider community to break down the barriers and support these children to access primary education.
