Education in Iraq has suffered under many years of war and civil unrest. Schools are often overcrowded with poor facilities and equipment. As a result, drop-out rates are high, particularly amongst females entering adolescence.
AMAR’s education programmes provide a secure and creative learning environment, enabling thousands of children and adults across Iraq to reach their full potential. Working from kindergartens, though schools to universities, AMAR provides education programmes in a range of topics including literacy and numeracy, human rights and the rule of law, democracy and political participation and information technology. AMAR also builds, staffs and equips education facilities and provides ongoing training for teaching staff.
