Fish for Profit
Farm Africa

Supporting over 7,000 farmers to build fish farming businesses

The population living on the shores of Lake Victoria in Kenya are heavily dependent on fish for their food. But overfishing means that the nets have to go further out and the villagers spend hours pulling them in for almost no catch at all. In Kisumu, Farm Africa is training local entrepreneurs to set up aqua shops that provide all the training, baby fish and materials farmers need to set up fish farming businesses. With their vastly improved yields, farmers can provide better quality food for their families with enough left over to sell for a good profit, leading to prosperity that enables them to take charge of their futures.
